2024 Capital Roadway Paving Project

Phase 1 of the 2024 Road Paving Program, which included five roads, has been completed.

Phase 2 includes nine more roads - White Meadow Road, Spring Valley Road, CamdenRoad, Pleasant View Road, Auten Road (from railroad to New Centre Road), Starview Drive, Murray Drive, Ski Drive and Dogwood Drive.

Britting Jr. said he expects all to be completed by the end of October.

The Township Committee previously awarded a contract for Phase 2 to Stilo Paving & Excavating of South Plainfield for $2,201,630.68 during the Aug. 13 committee meeting.

Amsterdam Drive

Phase 1 and 2 have been completed. Phase 3 is scheduled to be completed this fall.

Auten Road

The Township received a bid to complete Auten Road. Britting is pushing to get that road complete by the end of the year.

Route 206

The New Jersey Department of Transportation is currently working on constructing a bridge by Valley Road, which will eliminate the two traffic signals that are close together in the area.

A jughandle will also be constructed at Valley Road, which Britting said will help to get rid of flooding.

Jughandles will also be constructed near Hillsborough Transmission and Triangle Road, which will also help to eliminate a lot of flooding, said Britting.

Settlements to be remediated by the state in front of homes and businesses.

Milling and Paving Pavement Preservation Program

The Township also started its pavement preservation program this year, which is expected to extend the life of roadways by about seven years.
