IN SHORT
The Raiders won most of the loose balls and the offense controlled play for large portions of the game, limiting the Red Devils' possessions and attack time.

Kristina Vangeli scored the first of her three goals 21 seconds into the game to give the Raiders the lead 1-0.

The Red Devils tied the game at 1 at the 23:11 mark, but then Gianna Minutillo scored three unanswered goals over the next six minutes to give the Raiders a 4-1 lead.   Kitty Dawson and Kristina Vangeli chipped in a goal each and the first half ended with the Raiders leading 6-2.

The Raiders built up the lead to 10-3 early into the second half but some sloppy play allowed the Red Devils to score three unanswered goals and cut the lead to 10-6 with 13:07 to go.

The Raiders were up to the challenge controlled the faceoff and ran their offense passing the ball around the perimeter until Minutillo scored her fifth goal a minute later to put the lead back to five. From that point on while the Raiders and Red Devils would score two more goals each, the game was not in doubt as the Raiders again controlled the play.

THEY SAID IT
“We started out strong defensively but then in the second half there were some holes in the defense. We’ve been making big improvements sliding over to the girls with the ball. We just have to keep working on it."—Goaltender Marissa Traina talking about the Raider defense.
