Montgomery Bicyclist Hit By Van, Hospitalized Sunday Night
The crash happened on Belle Mead Griggstown Road (County Route 630) and involved two Belle Mead residents.
MONTGOMERY, NJ — A bicyclist was hospitalized after being hit by a van on Sunday night in Montgomery, police said.
On Sunday at 6:04 p.m., a 43-year-old Belle Mead woman was riding her bike eastbound on Belle Mead Griggstown Road (County Route 630) and was crossing the Harlingen Road intersection when she was hit by a Ford van, Montgomery Police Lt. Silvio Bet said.
The van's driver Alex Aliev, 63, of Belle Mead, was driving west on Belle Mead Griggstown Road and turning left onto Harlingen Road when the crash occurred, Bet said.

The woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash and was taken to Robert Wood Johnson New Brunswick Hospital for treatment.
Aliev was uninjured and remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation. A section of
Harlingen Road was closed to traffic during the investigation.

The crash is being investigated by Sgt. Andrew Perry and Officer Tim Giaccone of the Montgomery Township Police Department Traffic Safety Bureau. Anyone with information is asked to call 908-359-3222.
