MONTGOMERY, NJ — Devra Keenan is one of four candidates running for township committee in the Montgomery primary election being held on Tuesday, June 4.

Keenan and Kent Huang are both vying for the Democratic ticket while Ed Trzaska and KamranQuraishi are both vying for the Republican ticket. There are two seats up for grabs for the township committee.

All four candidates are vying for their party's nomination on June 4 and then will move on to the general election on Nov. 5 for the lone sheriff spot.

Description:

Devra Keenan, 52, lives in Skillman for 21 years. She is married to Sergey Gershtein, who is director of R&D systems at Abbott Point of Care. They have a son named Maxim and a rescue mutt named Cooper.

What experience do you have that would help you serve?

Keenan has graduated from Brandeis University with a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology. She is the founder of High Impact Advisors LLC - an organizational consulting and coaching firm.

Previously she served corporate vice president for Talent Acquisition for New York Life Insurance Company.

Keenan also volunteers on the townships economic development commission and was the former President of Province Line Swim Club.

What issues would you like to address in Somerset County?

  • Concerned about current approach to development and over-reliance on distressed retail industry. Shift the focus to smart, sustainable (re)development centered upon serving the needs of current and future Montgomery residents.
  • Walkability and connecting siloed spaces in Montgomery
  • Bring forward thinking holistic approaches to issues and committed to bringing transparency, vision and inclusive values to township committee and community.
