Montgomery Police Make Drug, DWI, Trespassing Arrests

Montgomery Police arrested multiple people for marijuana possession, driving while intoxicated, trespassing and outstanding warrants.

MONTGOMERY, NJ — Montgomery Police arrested multiple people for marijuana possession, driving while intoxicated, trespassing and outstanding warrants recently.

Montgomery Police Blotter:

On May 1 at 6 a.m.: Paris Basile, 18, of Hopewell was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Basile was stopped for speeding on County Route 518. Suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia were seen during the traffic stop and the vehicle was searched. A metal smoking pipe was recovered during the search along with suspect marijuana. Basile was arrested and transported to the Montgomery Township Police Department for arrest processing. Basile was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, and was issued traffic tickets for speeding and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle. Basile was released pending and appearance in the Montgomery Township Municipal Court.

On May 5 at 11:30 p.m.: Abigail Williams, 35, of Long Valley was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Williams was stopped for speeding on County Route 601. During the traffic stop it was determined that Williams had been consuming alcoholic beverages prior to driving. Sobriety exams were conducted and Williams was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Williams was transported to the Montgomery Township Police Department for arrest processing. Williams was issued traffic tickets for driving while intoxicated and speeding and was released pending a court appearance in the Montgomery Township Municipal Court.

On May 5 at 9:30 p.m.: Melvin Gatling, 62, of Monmouth Junction was arrested for trespassing. Police responded to a trespassing complaint on Montgomery Road. Gatling refused to leave the premise after being given clear instructions to do so. Gatling was arrested and transported to the Montgomery Township Police Department for arrest processing. Gatling was charged with defiant trespass and was released pending a court appearance at the Montgomery Township Municipal Court.

On May 15 at 3:15 p.m.: Montgomery Township Police arrested Favio S. Estrada, 23, of Bound Brook. Officer Daniel Balinski stopped Estrada while operating a 2017 Chevrolet van on County Route 605 River Road for not wearing his seat belt. Balinski smelled the odor of raw marijuana coming from the vehicle’s interior and subsequently arrested Estrada for possession of marijuana and an outstanding traffic warrant out of Bound Brook. Estrada was processed at Montgomery Police Headquarters. Estrada posted bail and was released on his own recognizance pending an appearance in Montgomery Township Municipal Court.

On May 18 at 7:40 a.m.: Christine Volpe, 32, of South Plainfield was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Volpe was stopped on Route 206 for an equipment violation. Police detected an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle interior and subsequently conducted a search that led to the recovery of suspect marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Volpe was arrested and transported to Montgomery Township Police Headquarters for processing. Volpe was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia. Volpe was issued a traffic ticket for the equipment violation and was released pending an appearance in the Montgomery Township Municipal Court.

On May 18 at 2:30 p.m.: Alexander Fernandez, 48, of New Kensington, Pennsylvania was arrested for contempt of court. Officer Christopher Parlow stopped Fernandez for operating a vehicle on Route 206 with an equipment violation. Further investigation by Parlow revealed Fernandez had outstanding Municipal Court Warrants from Jersey City and Blackwood. Fernandez was arrested and taken to Montgomery Township Police Headquarters for arrest processing. Fernandez posted $630 bail and was released with a traffic ticket for the equipment violation.

On May 10 at 2:30 p.m.: Lukas Neilssen, 20, of Skillman was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia. Neilssen was the operator of a vehicle stopped by Sgt. Ryan Gray on Belle Mead Griggstown Road at approximately 12:45 a.m. A narcotic K9 was deployed and a search warrant was subsequently executed on Neilssen’s vehicle. The search warrant led to the recovery of drug paraphernalia. Neilssen was processed at headquarters for possession of drug paraphernalia and was issued traffic tickets for a hands free cellular phone violation, and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. Neilssen was released pending a court appearance in the Montgomery Township Municipal Court. The Somerset County Sheriff’s Department assisted the investigation along with K9 Apex.

On May 19 at 11:45 a.m.: Robin Hecht, 53, of Hillsborough was arrested for contempt of court. Officer Christopher Parlow stopped Hecht for an equipment violation on Skillman Road. Further investigation by Parlow revealed Hecht had a Municipal Court Warrant from Montgomery Township. Hecht was processed at Montgomery Township Police Headquarters where she posted $378 bail and was released with a traffic ticket for the equipment violation.
