Montgomery Twp. Man Arrested For Calling, Threatening Police

The man was calling the police to complain about cars speeding past his home when the threat was made, police say.

MONTGOMERY, NJ — A Belle Mead man was arrested after he placed a threatening phone call to the Montgomery Township Police Department.

On Oct. 9 at 12:31 p.m., Stanford H. Spencer called in a traffic complaint about vehicles speeding past his residence and during the phone call he made a statement about potentially committing an act of violence towards members of the police department, police reported.

An investigation was conducted and Spencer was arrested for disorderly conduct. Spencer was processed at police headquarters and was released pending a court appearance in the Montgomery Township Municipal Court.
