Moon Room Full of Music on Opening Night

The new Hillsborough music venue, The Moon Room, opened Saturday, Dec. 12.

Saturday, Dec. 12, the doors of The Moon Room officially opened for the first time to welcome fans, friends and families of the five musical groups that showed up to play. The basement of the Hillsborough Presbyterian Church overflowed with the enthralling music of the artists from Nicholas Bruno’s first song until Motor Heart Man’s concluding set.

Hierophant, the one-man-band from Hillsborough, began with his banjo and later switched to his acoustic guitar to play a rendition of Frank Sinatra’s “Fly Me to the Moon” in honor of The Moon Room’s opening night and Frank Sinatra’s 100th birthday.

Following Hierophant was New York City band Help Me Help You, sans a drummer and a bassist, who is currently in California. The alternative rock group serenaded the audience with original songs that the band rarely plays live.
