Motorcyclist Hospitalized After Hit By Car On Hillsborough-Manville Border

Motor vehicle complaints are pending against the driver of a Honda CRV, said police.

MANVILLE, NJ — A motorcyclist sent to a hospital with injuries after being hit by a car on Sunday in Manville.

On Oct. 1 at 11:47 a.m., police got a report of a motorcyclist down on South Main Street at the Hillsborough border.

Police found a 54-year-old South Plainfield man lying in the roadway, said Manville Police Lt. John Crater.

Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics from Robert Wood Johnson Hospital treated the victim and he was later taken to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick for several injuries. The most serious injury was an injured shoulder, said Crater.

Police determined a 2018 Honda CRV, driven by an 83-year-old Three Bridges man, made a left-hand turn onto Schmidt Street, in front of the motorcyclist who was driving south on a 2009 Suzuki, said Crater.

The motorcyclist subsequently crashed into the CRV. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Motor vehicle complaints are pending against the CRV driver, said Crater.
