If your New Year’s Resolution is to get great S.A.T. scores, you’ve picked a resolution that you can actually follow through with! Now is the time for high school juniors to plan and prepare for the upcoming S.A.T. exams. After the January test, which is taking place in two weeks, the next S.A.T. exams are offered on March 8th, May 3rd and June 7th. Many juniors choose to take two, or even three, of these tests since you are able to pick and choose which scores (obviously the highest ones!) to send to colleges with your college applications. By taking the S.A.T. several times in the spring of junior year, students can attempt to reach their goal and then not have to worry about the test all summer long. They can start their senior year focused on their studies and getting going on their college applications.
Of course, the S.A.T. is a test that you do NOT want to go into cold. It’s much too important for that, since your S.A.T. scores not only greatly impact whether or not you get into the college of your choice, it also affects the amount of scholarship money that you will be offered for four straight years! The S.A.T. is marked on a curve, so you are actually competing against all the other students who are taking the test the same day as you – the majority of whom have prepared.
What’s the best material to use to prepare? Since College Board writes the test, the best way to prepare is by using their material since the directions, sample questions, and box of math formulas will be identical to what you will face on the actual test. The content covered on the practice tests will likewise mirror the questions you will find on the real deal. S.A.T. Smart has been offering local classes for the past 19 years, preparing students by using the Official SAT Study Guide by College Board, and guiding students through practice tests while teaching the strategy, secrets and solutions for these all important exams. Students are also provided with ongoing support in the form of:
