North Branch, Millstone Rivers Are Flooding

The North Branch River at South Branch and the Millstone River at Griggstown are flooding. Flood watch is in effect until 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.

HILLSBOROUGH/BRIDGEWATER, NJ — The North Branch River at South Branch and the Millstone River at Griggstown are flooding.

The National Weather Service is reporting the water in the North Branch River is 9.19 feet high. Flood stage for the river is 8 feet high.

The flooded section of the river is on Old York Road where it separates Bridgewater from Branchburg. As a result the roadway is closed in that area.

The NWS is reporting the water in the Millstone River is 13.48 feet high. Flood stage for the river is 10 feet high.

The river is located in Montgomery and the Blackwells Mills Causeway between Franklin and Hillsborough is closed as a result of flooding.

A flood warning remains in effect until 6:33 a.m. on Tuesday, the NWS said. Smaller rivers, streams, and areas with poor drainage could flood.
