'Patience, Understanding' Needed On Hillsborough's 1st Day Of School

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — With the first day of school for Hillsborough students set for Thursday, officials are asking for patience and understanding as buses get acclimated.
"As we all look forward to the start of the school year, please be advised that buses typically experience delays over the first few days of school. This is completely normal as students work through new routines and routes are adjusted due to traffic patterns and/or construction on roads," wrote Hillsborough Township Public Schools.
"It is especially noticeable at elementary dismissal as we take time in assuring that every child safely gets on the correct bus each day. Elementary school dismissal time typically sees the longest delays at the start of the school year," continued the district.

The district said it appreciates "your patience and understanding as we strive to ensure safe and efficient transportation for all our students. Rest assured, we're committed to getting everyone to and from school safely!"
