Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Car In Hillsborough

Breaking: An unresponsive man was found lying in the roadway of Route 206 in Hillsborough and later pronounced dead, police report.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — A pedestrian was fatally hit by a car on Route 206 in Hillsborough Friday night.

Hillsborough Police responded to the area of Route 206 near Partridge Road at around 7:39 p.m. where they found an unresponsive man in the roadway, police reported.

The victim as pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the motor vehicle remained on scene, police reported.

The victim has not been identified by police.

Route 206 was closed in both directions for about three hours as a result. The investigation is ongoing, police report.

Responding units included Hillsborough Township police Department, Somerset County Prosecutor's Office Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team, Robert Wood Johnson Emergency Medical Services, Hillsborough Fire Co. 2, New Jersey State Department of Transportation.
