Pedestrian Hit By Jeep, Hospitalized In Somerset County: Cops
Franklin Township Police are investigating the crash that took place on Wednesday night.
FRANKLIN, NJ - A pedestrian is hospitalized after being hit by a Jeep in Franklin on Wednesday night, said authorities.
On April 12 at around 8 p.m., the Franklin Township Police Department were called to a motor vehicle crash on Somerset Street, near Juliet Avenue, said Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald, Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of County Detectives John W. Fodor and Franklin Township Public Safety Director Quovella M. Maeweather.
The initial investigation found the crash occurred when a Jeep Cherokee, driving southbound on Somerset Street, hit a pedestrian who entered the roadway, said police.

Officers found the pedestrian unconscious but breathing. Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital BLS and paramedics took the victim to a local hospital for treatment, said police.
A section of Somerset Street was closed for around three hours as a result of the motor vehicle crash.

The factors that contributed to the crash are currently under investigation by the Franklin Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Bureau.
