Hillsborough, NJ -- A total of 480 inches of hair and $1,019 was donated to the Locks of Love organization.
The community gathered at Amsterdam Elementary School on Friday, June 3 to watch as 43 students, 1 parent, 2 former students, and 2 teachers chopped their locks for a good cause.
This is the 13th year that Amsterdam School has held this hair cutting for the nonprofit organization that makes hairpieces for children who suffer from longterm medical hair loss.

The feel-good event started in the classroom of 4th grade teacher Lisa Caudill and has since grown. Since inception the school has donated almost 7,000 inches of hair to Locks of Love.
Along with the hair donation, monetary donations were also collected through a fundraiser that netted $1,019. Local Hillsborough salon, Hair Plus, donated their time at the hair extension fundraiser where they bonded extensions to the hair of students and staff.

Hair Plus was also on site today to cut 48 hair Friday.
