Pipeline at Top of Hillsborough Property Tax Payers
Shopping centers and other developments pale in comparison to Texas Eastern Pipeline bill.

Yesterday was the deadline for filing income taxes, but Tax Foundation says you're not really done paying taxes for the year: the foundation's annual estimate of how long the average American must work to earn enough to pay all of the taxes due in a year says that won't happen until Thursday.
So in case your head's spinning after looking at the dizzying numbers on your returns, we thought we'd share the list of Hillsborough's Top 10 property taxpayers for 2011 (the most recent year information is available), according to Gannett's DataUniverse.
If you think your property tax bill is high, compare it to the $1,297,503 bill for the Texas Eastern pipeline, which runs through Hillsborough (not the same pipeline as the Buckeye Pipe Line). The tax assessors office lists three assessments for the company, entirely based on the "improvements" on land the company leases for the pipeline.
