Principal Announced For Hillsborough Elementary School
Susan Eckstein has been selected as the new principal of Hillsborough Elementary School effective January 1, 2015.
Susan J. Eckstein, vice principal of Hillsborough Middle School, has been selected as the new principal of Hillsborough Elementary School (HES) effective January 1, 2015. Eckstein was approved by a unanimous vote at the December 8, 2014 Hillsborough Board of Education meeting.
Eckstein has been with Hillsborough Township Public Schools since 2000. In 2008, she was named as vice principal at Hillsborough Middle School. Prior to serving as vice principal, Eckstein worked at Hillsborough High School as a special education teacher and then a learning disabilities teacher consultant. She began her career at the Alpha School, a school for special needs students ages 3 -21, in Jackson, NJ. Eckstein served as a special education teacher for the school’s elementary school-aged students.
“I am excited to be appointed to lead Hillsborough Elementary School,” stated Eckstein. “The entire school community has a real passion for creating a supportive learning environment for all. I look forward to getting to know the students, staff, and families.”

Eckstein holds a Master of Educational Leadership from The College of New Jersey, a Master of Special Education also from The College of New Jersey, and a Bachelor of Arts from Rutgers University. She also has a certificate in Gifted Education from Rutgers University.
“The interview committee met with many exceptional candidates during the search,” state Dr. Jorden Schiff, Superintendent of Schools. “Susan stood out during this process. Her leadership experience and dedication to students of all abilities will be tremendous assets to maintaining the successes already achieved at HES and continuing to move the school forward.”
