Private Light Show With 200 Drones To Take Flight In Somerset County

Franklin Township Police sent out a public safety announcement ahead of the show set for Saturday night.

FRANKLIN, NJ — A private light show involving around 200 drones is set to take flight in Somerset County on Saturday night, announced Franklin Township Public Safety Director Quovella Maeweather.

"There is no cause for alarm and no need to contact 911 to report the drone activity confined to this area during the above date and time. Local fire officials and law enforcement are aware of the event," said Maeweather in a public safety announcement on Friday.

The private drone light show will take place on Saturday, Dec. 14 at around 9:30 p.m. above The Palace at Somerset at 333 Davidson Ave. in Franklin Township.

The company responsible for the drone light show has the necessary approvals from The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), said Maeweather.

The show involves around 200 drones, which will be limited to the area above The Palace at Somerset. The show is expected to last 15 minutes.
