Racist Incident Under Investigation In Montgomery

A Montgomery man was walking his dog on Feb. 9 when a driver stopped and yelled at the man referencing his race and heritage, police said.

MONTGOMERY, NJ — Authorities are investigating an alleged bias incident in Montgomery.

On Feb. 9 sometime between 10:50 and 11:05 a.m., a Montgomery resident said he was walking his dog in the area of Southern Hills Drive when he was approached by an Asian man driving a blue/gray Hyundai Genesis with a temporary NJ registration, said Montgomery Township Police.

The driver of the car stopped, rolled down the window, and yelled at the resident referencing the resident’s race and heritage, said police.

As a result of the report, the Somerset County Prosecutor Michael Robertson, Somerset County Chief of Detectives John Fodor and Montgomery Police Captain Jim Gill are investigating.
