Rally To Stand Up For Women's Rights To Be Held In Hillsborough
The rally is hosted by Our Revolution Hillsborough in response to a leaked Supreme Court report to overturn Roe v. Wade.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — A rally for women's reproductive rights will be held in Hillsborough on Tuesday night in response to a leaked Supreme Court report to overturn Roe v. Wade.
"We were disappointed to hear about the Supreme Court’s leaked report. While NJ will continue to allow women the right to choose, other states may not be so open," said Didier Jimenez of Our Revolution-Hillsborough, a grassroots political action organization.
The rally "in support of a woman’s right to control her own body" will be from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Route 206 and Amwell Road Hillsborough ShopRite intersection.

"Woman's rights are human rights," according to the organization's flyer.
Politico obtained an unprecedented leak — a draft majority opinion indicating five justices will overturn Roe (1973) and Planned Parenthood v. Casey (1992).

Despite this news, abortion access is protected by state law in New Jersey.
Murphy signed the Freedom of Reproductive Choice Act into New Jersey law earlier this year. This ensures access to abortions in New Jersey, whether or not the Supreme Court overturns the landmark cases.
"Quite frankly, while enraging, this news is hardly surprising," Gov. Phil Murphy said during an unrelated news conference Tuesday. "This is exactly why we took the step we did earlier this year in enshrining every New Jerseyan's full reproductive rights into state law."
Congressman Tom Malinowski for District 7 also spoke at the news conference about the leaked report.
"We are all tired of the division and the conflict in this country and of having our lives unended again and again. The last thing that we need is for a radical Supreme Court to rip to shreds 50 years of settled law in this country that the overwhelming majority of Americans support," said Malinowski, which followed applause from the audience.
