'Gunshots' Heard During Lockdown At Somerset School Were False
During a pre-planned lockdown a School Security Officer reported hearing 3 to 5 loud bangs that she believed could have been gunshots.

SOMERSET, NJ — The sound of possible gunshots heard during a pre-planned lockdown drill at Sampson G. Smith School were found to be discredited Thursday, police reported.
The school, located on Amwell Road, underwent the drill at around 8:30 a.m. when a School Security Officer reported hearing three to five loud bangs that she believed could have been gunshots, Franklin Police reported.
Multiple patrol units responded to and were in the area of Amwell Road and Demott Lane at the time of the incident.

"No evidence of gunshots or any other dangerous activity was observed. It was determined that there was no actual threat to the school and the students were never in any danger," Franklin Township Police Department - Somerset County reported.
