"The video clearly depicted the same woman wearing the same clothing, exit a red Toyota and approach the residence. The suspect then took the packages from the doorstep and returned to the vehicle with the victim’s packages," said Frascella.

One resident was able to capture the vehicle’s registration on their home surveillance system.

The MTPD Detectives investigation identified the suspect. On Feb. 14, police arrested Fartun Aden, 19, of New Brunswick.

Detectives shared information with other law enforcement agencies in the region, which helped identify additional active package theft investigations involving Aden, said Frascella.

Aden was charged with 5 counts of theft of movable property for the Montgomery Township incidents and released on her own recognizance pending a Municipal Court appearance.

"The MTPD Detectives related the quick resolution of this investigation was greatly assisted by
the victim’s implementation of surveillance systems, as well as efficient information sharing of
similar thefts among their law enforcement partners and technological resources available to
the agencies," said Frascella.
