Scam Alert: T-Shirt Sale Pretends To Benefit Hillsborough Firefighters
This scam is an ongoing issue impacting many Fire Departments, according to Hillsborough Township.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Authorities are warning residents about a scam where messages are being sent to residents pretending to be affiliated with the Hillsborough Flagtown Volunteer Fire/Rescue Sqaud.
The scammer is pretending to be selling T-shirts for the fire department.
"The local Fire Departments DO NOT solicit like this, nor are they affiliated with the organization behind these messages. This is an ongoing issue impacting many Fire Departments. Do not click the links," said the township in an alert on Monday.

Flagtown Fire/Rescue - Hillsborough Volunteer Fire Co. #1 said the scam messages were being sent to followers of their Facebook page.
"We are not affiliated with the organization behind messages and do not endorse any products being sold. We will never solicit our followers to make any purchases," the department wrote on its website flagtownfd.com.
