See How Hillsborough Voted In NJ Governor, Committee, School Race

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — It was an extremely close race for New Jersey Governor with Phil Murphy ultimately leading Jack Ciattarelli in the race for a second term, according to unofficial results. Mail-In and Provisional Ballots will be certified by Nov. 18.

Overall Hillsborough favored its township resident Ciattarelli with 7,721 total votes over Murphy with 6,628 votes.

All but one district of the 33 total in Hillsborough Township favored Cittarelli. Districts 16 votes were tied between Ciattarelli and Murphy.

Hillsborough Township also had two local heated races for Committee and School Board. In the council race, there were four candidates vying for the two, three-year seats.

Republican incumbent Shawn Lipani and newcomer Republican Steven Cohen won over Democratic incumbent Jeffrey Wright and newcomer Democrat Roger Koch.

Lipani had 8,217 votes and Cohen had 7,802 over Wright who had 5,985 and Koch with 5,710 votes.

In the school board race, there were four candidates vying for the three, three-year seats. Elaine Jackson, Jason Albanese, and Allison Laning-Beder are leading over Krzysztof Golas.

Jackson had 7,053 votes, Albanese had 6,127 votes, and Laning-Beder had 5,920 votes over Golas with 4,595. There were also 1,192 votes for write-in candidates.
