Several Unlocked Cars Burglarized In Hillsborough
Scams, DWI arrests, and shopliftings were also reported in the Hillsborough Police blotter for January.
HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Several unlocked vehicles were burglarized in Hillsborough early in January.
On Jan. 4, several unlocked motor vehicles were burglarized with items stolen in the area of Amsterdam Drive and Murphy Drive, said Hillsborough Police.
There were also several attempted motor vehicle burglaries in which the suspect did not gain entry because the vehicles were locked. The investigation is ongoing.

"[Hillsborough Township Police Department] would like to remind residents to lock their vehicles and to not leave valuable items in them overnight," said police.

On Jan. 3: Thomas Grigal, 43, of Manville, was arrested after he was found burning a pile of wood pallets in the parking lot of the Days Inn Hotel (118 Rt. 206). He was processed, charged with disorderly conduct (disorderly persons), criminal mischief (disorderly persons), open burn without a permit (township ordinance) and released with a Hillsborough Township Municipal Court date.
On Jan. 3: A 71-year-old woman from Branchburg was arrested for shoplifting (disorderly persons) after she was found trying to take $78.87 worth of items from the Home Goods (315 Rt. 206). She was processed and released with a Hillsborough Township Municipal Court date.
On Jan. 3: David Colin, 20, of North Brunswick, was arrested for DWI while on a traffic stop on Homestead Road. He was processed and released with a Hillsborough Township Municipal Court date.
On Jan. 4: Stuart Colangelo, 57, of Hillsborough, was charged with endangering another (disorderly persons) as a result of a motor vehicle crash and DWI arrest from August 2025. He was served with his charge and advised of his Hillsborough Township Municipal Court date.
On Jan. 7: A Campbell Road resident reported a FedEx package containing a necklace was stolen from her front porch after delivery. The investigation is ongoing.
On Jan. 7: Yosi Rojas, 37, of Hillsborough, was arrested for DWI while on a motor vehicle crash investigation on New Centre Road. He was processed and released with a Hillsborough Township Municipal Court date.
On Jan. 9: A Hillsborough resident reported receiving a call from an “American Express employee” stating they needed his personal information and bank account information due to the FBI investigating him for money laundering. The victim provided the information and the employee stated they would update them on the investigation. After not hearing back or being able to contact the employee, the victim realized it was a scam and reported it to Hillsborough Township Police Department. The investigation is ongoing.
On Jan. 10: Raziel Ramos-Sanchez, 38, of Manville, was arrested for DWI while on a traffic stop on Route 206. He was processed and released with a Hillsborough Township Municipal Court date.
On Jan. 12: A resident from Short Hills reported he mailed a check to the IRS from the Hillsborough Post Office in April 2025. He was informed by the IRS that they never received the check. His bank told him that the check was cashed and that the name was altered. The investigation is ongoing.
On Jan. 14: CoParts (2124 Camplain Road) reported a Cadillac Escalade was stolen from the parking lot overnight. The vehicle was started and driven through the front gate. The investigation is ongoing.
On Jan. 16: A package containing a sleep apnea machine was stolen from the front steps of a Farm Road residence. The machine was valued at $800. The investigation is ongoing.
On Jan. 17: Yenner Jesus Meza, 32, of Lebanon, was arrested for DWI while on a traffic stop on Roycefield Road. He was processed and released with a Hillsborough Township Municipal Court date.
On Jan. 20: Curmeet Singh, 32, of Upper Derby, PA was arrested for DWI while on a traffic stop on Route 206. He was processed and released with a Hillsborough Township Municipal Court date.
On Jan. 23: A 37-year-old and a 56-year-old, both from Manville, were arrested for shoplifting (disorderly persons) after it was found they stole several steaks from Weis Market (315 Rt. 206). They were processed and released with a Hillsborough Township Municipal Court date.
On Jan. 23: A resident of Durham Court reported a package containing snowblower blades valued at $34.99 was stolen after delivery. The investigation is ongoing.
On Jan. 24: Jose Cabellero-Perez, 22, of Hillsborough, was arrested for DWI while on a motor vehicle crash investigation on Route 206. He was processed and released with a Hillsborough Township Municipal Court date.
On Jan. 26: A resident on Route 206 reported a co-worker stole a heater, ice scraper, and clothing from his residence. The investigation is ongoing.
On Jan. 29: Arturo Navarro-Gamboa, 43, of Manville, was arrested for hindering (disorderly persons) after he provided officers with several fake names and dates of birth while on a traffic stop on Old Camplain Road. He was processed and released with a Hillsborough Township Municipal Court date.
