Sleeping Burglar Photographed By Hillsborough Homeowner: Prosecutor
A man was found sleeping face-down on the floor of the master bedroom while in the middle of burglarizing the Hillsborough home: Prosecutor

Hillsborough, NJ -- A man who was burglarizing a Hillsborough home was found sleeping inside by the resident, Acting Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H.Robertson and Hillsborough Township Chief of Police Darren Powell Friday.
Alexander T. Torres, age 24, of Canal Road in South Bound Brook was found sleeping face down in the master bedroom of a Nostrand Road on the floor next to the bed by the owner and her 12-year-old son, according to the prosecutor's report.
The owner came home with her son on Thursday, June 2 at 7:40 a.m. and found the garage door opened. Inside they saw items in their bedrooms thrown onto the floors when they found Torres sleeping on the floor wearing a black backpack.

The victim called 9-1-1 and then took photos of Torres before waking him. Torres then walked out of the house without saying anything as the homeowner continued to take photos of him, according to the report.
Hillsborough Patrol units arrested Torres on Campbell Road and found the homeowner's son's backpack nearby in a front yard.

The back pack had electronic items and a U.S. dollar coin that was stolen from the house, according to the report.
Hillsborough Township Police lodged defendant Torres in the Somerset County
Torres was charged with Burglary, 3rd Degree and Theft, 3rd Degree.
The Honorable Kathy C. Qasim, J.S.C., set bail at $50,000, 10% to apply with the condition that if the defendant posts bail, he is not to have contact with the victims.
