'Smash And Grab' Burglars Target Jewelry Store In Hillsborough

The masked burglars smashed the front window of a jewelry store off Route 206 in Hillsborough to get inside, said police.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — A "smash and grab" burglary by masked suspects was reported at a Hillsborough jewelry store overnight on Tuesday.

On June 20 at 2:45 a.m., a witness called Hillsborough Police about a burglary in progress at Bentley’s Jewelers at 601 Route 206, said Lieutenant Scott W. Mc Carthy.

The suspects had fled the scene before police arrived.

The burglary was described as a "smash and grab" as the masked suspects smashed the front window to get inside and steal items, said Mc Carthy.

The burglary is still under investigation.
