Somerset County Man Sexually Assaulted Child In Linden: UCPO

Daniel Williams, 36, of Franklin Township was charged with aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

FRANKLIN, NJ — A Somerset County man was charged with sexually assaulting a 7-year-old child multiple times in Linden, acting Union County Prosecutor Lyndsay V. Ruotolo announced.

Daniel Williams, 36, of Franklin Township was charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault, and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child following a seven-month investigation.

The alleged sexual assault began five years ago in Linden, when the child was 7-years-old, and continued into the following year, according to Union County Assistant Prosecutor Tracy Boyd, who is prosecuting the case.

Williams was arrested at his home by members of the Franklin Township Police Department on Monday, July 15.

He faces 10 to 20 years in state prison for the first-degree criminal charges and 5 to 10 years on the second-degree crimes.
