1st Distillery In Somerset County Opens This Weekend
Bellemara Distillery in Hillsborough will have a limited opening this weekend at Flounder's Kringle Market and a grand opening by Christmas.
HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Somerset County's first distillery, Bellemara, is set to open officially with a sneak-peak limited opening this weekend at Flounder's Kringle Market.
"We got all of our final licenses and approvals which means that distilling has begun," shared Bellemara Distillery.
The limited opening at the distillery at Carriage Farm, at 2 Clerico Lane in Hillsborough, just off Route 206, will offer guests a drink from their limited menu. This is in conjunction with Flounder Brewery's Kringle Market. Read More: Flounder's Brewery To Host First Ever Kringle Market

Former Naval Officer turned distiller Camden Winkelstein and his wife Christina Lee of Plainsboro have been working since 2017 to get their dream off the ground and now the day has finally come.
"It's great to see the whole building come alive and turn on the system, said Winkelstein. "The whole thing is fired up without any major issues. It's kind of a nice feeling."

Winkelstein began distilling his single-malt clear spirit, which is like vodka. Then he will start distilling gin potentially next week.
"It is very excited to finally be happening," said Winkelstein.
Winkelstein is pushing to officially open by Dec. 26. More information on a grand opening will be announced in the future.
