Somerset Man Killed In Rt. 18 Motorcycle Crash On Labor Day

A Somerset man was killed while riding his motorcycle on Rt. 18 Monday night in the city of New Brunswick.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — A man was killed while driving a motorcycle on Rt. 18 Monday night in the city of New Brunswick, according to city officials.

The fatal motorcycle crash happened at 6:56 p.m. Monday, Labor Day, said a New Brunswick city spokesman.

The motorcyclist killed was Andrew Nowakowski, 36, of the Somerset section of Franklin, NJ.com reported. They report he was driving the motorbike south near the Rt. 1 ramp when he lost control rounding a curve and crashed.

Nowakowski was found in the grassy median.

Nowakowski was a lifelong resident of Somerset and one of his favorite pastimes was riding his motorcycle, according to his obituary. He worked as an MRI tech at Hunterdon Medical Center.
