Somerset Pedestrian In Critical Condition After Being Hit By Car
The 74-year-old Somerset woman was found lying in the roadway with a head injury and fractured leg, Franklin Police report.

FRANKLIN, NJ — A 74-year-old woman was hospitalized on Halloween when a car hit her while she was crossing the road in a marked crosswalk, Franklin Police report.
On Oct. 31 at 3:58 p.m., Franklin Police responded to multipl 911 calls reporting a pedestrian struck on JFK Boulevard in the area of New Brunswick Road.
Hendrika Houben of Somerset was found lying in the roadway with serious injuries, police reported.

An investigation revealed that a 2012 Nissan Maxima driven by Nada Gilbert, 28, of Somerset was traveling eastbound on New Brunswick Road.
As Gilbert made a left hand turn onto JFK Boulevard, she hit Houben as she was crossing the roadway in a marked crosswalk, police reported.

Houben was transported to a local area trauma center with a head injury and fractured leg. She is listed in critical condition, police reported.
The factors that contributed to the crash are currently under investigation. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Sgt. Erik Hagman at 732-873-5533 extension 3111.
