Somerset Shooting Critically Injures Man, Under Investigation

Authorities are investigating an early Saturday morning shooting that has left a Somerset man critically injured.

SOMERSET, NJ — Authorities are investigating an early Saturday morning shooting that has left a Somerset man critically injured.

At around 1:05 a.m., Franklin Township Police received a 9-1-1 call reporting gun shots in the area of Reler Lane in the Somerset section of town.

A 23-year-old Somerset man was found to have been struck by gunfire when police arrived. He was taken to an area hospital in critical condition, according to Somerset County Prosecutor's Office Michael Robertson.

Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes and Crime Scene Unit, as well as the Franklin Township Police Detective Bureau responded to the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
