Somerset Woman Shot, $5,000 Reward Offered To Find Shooter

A 20-year-old Somerset woman is hospitalized and in critical condition following a shooting on Tuesday night in Franklin Township: SCPO.

FRANKLIN, NJ — Authorities are offering a $5,000 reward in connection with a shooting in the Somerset section of Franklin Township that left a woman in critical condition on Tuesday night, authorities say.

A 911 call reported shots fired around 7:20 p.m. on Oct. 22 in the area of Phillips Road and Matilda Avenue in the Somerset section of Franklin Township, Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson said.

Franklin Police found a driver, a 20-year old Somerset woman, who was unconscious and had been shot behind the wheel of a vehicle, Robertson said.

The woman was then taken to an area trauma center and is currently in critical condition, Robertson said.

Detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, the Crime Scene Investigations and Forensics Unit, and the Franklin Township Police Department s investigating the shooting.

Somerset County Crime Stoppers is offering up to $5,000 in reward money for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for this shooting.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Somerset County Prosecutors Office Major Crimes Unit at 908-231-7100 or the Franklin Township Police Department at 732-873-5533 or via the STOPit app. The STOPit app allows citizens to provide anonymous reports including videos and photos.
