Stolen Mailbox Used to Smash Car Windshield
The following arrest information was supplied by the Hillsborough Township Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

On Oct. 2, a Polhemus Drive resident reported that his car’s windshield was shattered after having a mailbox thrown into it on Oct. 2.
An investigation conducted by Hillsborough Township Police determined that the mailbox had been stolen from a nearby residence.
The value of the damage was estimated to by $300.

A Hillsborough resident reported that a swastika had been etched into a concrete sidewalk at new Amwell Road and Taurus Drive on Oct. 3. The township’s Department of Public Works was contacted to remove the symbol, police said.

Mark Crane, 28, of Hillsborough, was charged with driving with intoxicated after his vehicle allegedly struck a parked car on River Road on Oct. 1. Crane allegedly obtained breath test results of .11 percent blood alcohol and was released after also being charged with careless driving, leaving the scene of an accident and failing to report an accident.
Daniel Stryker, 41, of Manville and Lauren Levitan, 41, of Glen Gardner, were charged with hindering apprehension when both allegedly provided false information regarding Stryker’s identity to an officer during a traffic stop. Levan was released after processing. Stryker was turned over to the Springfield Police on an outstanding warrant, Hillsborough Police said.
Bernard Cole, 34, of Somerset, was charged with obstructing justice after allegedly providing false information regarding his identity during a traffic stop on Route 206 on Sept. 29. Cole was released after also being charged with driving on a suspended license and improper maintenance of lamps.
John Birmingham, 31, of Hillsborough was charged with driving while intoxicated after the red Honda he was driving was reported as a possible drunk driver on Hamilton Road on Sept. 26. Birmingham was released after also being charged with refusing to submit to breath testing, driving with a suspended license, driving with an open container of alcohol and littering from a motor vehicle.
