String Of Catalytic Converter Thefts In Hillsborough Leads To Arrest
Hillsborough Police were able to track down the Bronx, New York man connected to 19 catalytic converter thefts that happened over 2 months.
HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — A Bronx, New York man was arrested and charged in connection with a string of catalytic converters thefts in Hillsborough.
Gabriel Burgos, 31, of Bronx, New York, was charged with 19 counts of third-degree theft and 19 counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief.
The thefts spanned over a two-month period beginning on March 31 through May 23.

During that time, the Hillsborough Township Police received numerous reported thefts of catalytic converters within the township.
Each theft happened during the overnight hours, resulting in damage to the victim’s vehicles, said Hillsborough Police Sergeant Jack Howard.

A police investigation found that Burgos and his car were found to have been in Hillsborough at the locations of the reported thefts during the overnight hours, said Howard.
