Student's Portrait of Former Olympian Unveiled

Painting of Joetta Clark Diggs featured among more than 200 pieces of art this weekend.

The Hillsborough Cultural Arts Commission Fine Art and Photography Exhibit opened Friday evening at the . The exhibit features works by local residents and high school students.

This year's exhibit includes a portrait of Joetta Clark Diggs, a four-time Olympian, author and businesswoman, by junior Zoe Zylowski. The portrait will become part of the Hillsborough Township Public Art Collection.

The exhibit features more than 200 pieces of original artwork by Somerset County high school students and Hillsborough adults. Clark Diggs is the first athlete to be selected for the commissioned portrait, which has preiously been done on Doris Duke, Anna Case and late Assemblyman Peter Biondi.

The exhibit remains on display Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
