Summer Programs At Hillsborough Library
The Somerset County Library System of New Jersey's Hillsborough branch announces summer programs for all ages.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — The Somerset County Library System of New Jersey's Hillsborough branch announces summer programs.
Collections:
Through the end of June, view the collections of Sunita Somasundaram and Survana Nagaraju. Beginning in July, view the collections of Rali Ramalingam and Rob O'Brien.

SCLSNJ’s Summer Reading Challenge:
Take the challenge. The Summer Reading Challenge is open to people of all ages from birth to adults, with programs, prize drawings and more. To register, visit your local branch or online at SCLSNJ.org/SummerReading. Challenge runs June 19 to Aug. 19.

Programs for Adults:
- Bellydance with Vin Iyer (July 10, 7-8 p.m.): This unique belly dance class will work your body from head to toe. Work your core and tone your body using muscles you didn't even know you had.
- Sizzling Summer Reads (July 12, 7-8:30 p.m.): From nail-biting psychological thrillers to laugh out loud stories, summertime reads are perfect for lounging by the water or relaxing in the shade. Join the conversation.
Programs for Children and Teens:
- Reading Buddy (Monday-Thursday, 10-Noon; 4-6 p.m.): Children register for a 15-minute time slot to read with a teen volunteer. Entering grades K-4.
- Monday Morning Playtime (July 10, 10-10:45 a.m.): A social time with toys available for play. For parents/caregivers and children up to 36 months.
- Popsicle Stick Paintings (July 10, 7-8 p.m.): Learn how to paint beautiful but easy silhouette paintings on Popsicle stick canvases. Entering grades 6-12.
- Storytime - Toddler Time (July 11, 10-10:45 a.m. and 11-11:45 a.m.): Introduce the pleasure of books to your child with stories, songs and more. (ages 18 months to 36 months).
- Trivia Tuesdays (July 11, 4-5 p.m.): Train your brain. Put your knowledge to the test at the weekly trivia contest. Entering grades 2-5.
- MAKE a Difference - Ryan's Case for Smiles (July 11, 6-8 p.m.): Earn service hours and create bright and whimsical pillowcases for Ryan's Case for Smiles. They provide the pillowcases to children with cancer to give them an emotional boost. Entering grades 7-12.
- Storytime - Rhyme Time (July 12, 10-10:20 a.m. and 11-11:20 a.m.): Build brain power with 20 minutes of nursery rhyme fun. Ages newborn - 24 months.
- Crafts for Kids - City Silhouette (July 13, 10-10:45 a.m.): Create your own city silhouette using mixed-media. Entering grades 3-5.
- Visit the StarLab - Tour the Night Sky (July 13, 6-6:30 p.m. and 6:30-7 p.m.): Visit the StarLab and learn about constellations, astronomy, mythology and the upcoming Great Solar Eclipse. Entering grades 3 and over.
- Storytime - Stories at Castle Park: Cow Appreciation Day (July 14, 10-10:45 a.m.): Storytime with Miss Jessica at Hillsborough’s Castle Park playground, located next to the Hillsborough Municipal Building. All ages.
- Tail Waggin' Tutors (July 14, 3:30-4:30 p.m.): Each registered child will get 10 minutes practicing reading skills while a TDI (Therapy Dogs International) trained dog listens. Entering grades K-4.
Library Resources:
- Book A Librarian: Schedule a 30 minute one-on-one session with an adult or youth services librarian. Get personalized help with the library's website, online catalog, databases, research questions, career assistance, storytime plans, locating materials, mobile devices, library apps, readers' advisory and more. All ages.
