Adult Services Programs from February 24 through March 1:

Friday Night Movie: “Captain Phillips” – February 21 at 7 p.m.
Starring Tom HanksBarkhad Abdi, Barkhad Abdirahman. Rated PG-13.
ACA Assistance Services – February 22 and March 1 at 1 p.m.
Cognosante Enrollment Assistance Services will be available to answer questions and assist community members with signing up for the Affordable Health Care Act.
ESL Conversation Group – February 24 at 7 p.m.
Sign up for our mixed gender ESL Conversation Group in the Hillsborough Library Conference Room. Ages 18 and older. Must know basic English.
Introduction to Self-Publishing, Part 2: Self-Publishing eBooks and eAudiobooks – February 25 at 7 p.m.
Are you a writer who is thinking about self-publishing? Join us to find out how you can publish your own book in print, electronically, and even in audio. Then, learn about the social media and other online tools you need to help you succeed. Downloadable eBooks and eAudiobooks are an ever-increasing, and often intimidating, part of the publishing market. We will review the major downloadable formats, and cover how to get your book into the important markets, such as Kindle, Nook, Smashwords, iBookstore, Google Play store, Audible and more. Presented by Robert Helmbrecht, Librarian at the Hillsborough Library, and owner of small-press genre publishing company Hazardous Press.
Zumba – February 26 at 7 p.m.
Zumba combines high energy music with unique moves that allow you to dance your way to a fitter you with exciting rhythms.  Join us for an energizing series: Wednesdays at 7 p.m. 2/19, 2/26. As long as you are moving and having fun, there is no wrong way to Zumba! Please remember to wear comfortable clothing and bring water.
Book Discussion: “The Book Thief” – February 27 at 7 p.m.
Join us to discuss this unforgettable book by Markus Zusak! Set in Nazi Germany and narrated by “Death”, a young German girl, whose book-stealing and story-telling talents help sustain her family, tries to make sense of the horrors of WWII. Refreshments will be served.
Afternoon Movie: “Some Like It Hot” – February 28 at 1 p.m.
Starring: Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis, Jack Lemmon

Youth Services Programs from February 24 through March 1:
First Roots Music with Ms. Jenni  – Newborn to 3 years – February 24 at 10 a.m.
Join Ms. Jenni, a Kindermusik educator and owner of First Roots Music Studio, for an entertaining music class that helps your child develop language, literacy, social and listening skills in a fun, nurturing, family-friendly setting. NOTE: Parents, in order to provide a safe environment for our youngest patrons, older siblings will not be allowed into this program.
Tail Waggin’ Tutors – Grades K-4 – February 24 at 4 p.m.
This is Therapy Dog International's Program: Children Reading to Dogs! Spend time reading to Xena, a TDI certified dog! Each registered child will get 10 special minutes practicing reading skills while Xena listens.
Early Reader Book Club – Grades K-2 – February 25 at 4 p.m.
An exciting program for brand-new readers! At each program we will discuss the book, do some activities and make a craft. Please be sure to read the book before the program. Copies will be available at the Children's Desk. This program: “Young Cam Jansen and the Ice Skate Mystery” by David Adler.
Preschool Book Club – For Parents and Children Ages 3-5 – February 26 at 10 a.m.
Join us as we read books by Doreen Cronin and share book-related activities.
Art Adventures: Doggone It! – Ages 4-6 – February 27 at 10 a.m.
Get those creative juices flowing and take your own masterpiece home! (Some projects may be messy, so please dress in play clothes!)
Volunteer Opportunity: Lego Buddies – Grades 8-12 – February 27 at 3:45 p.m.
We are looking for reliable teen volunteers to provide assistance during our Lego Club programs. Must have great social skills and previous experience with children. Volunteers will earn community service hours for their attendance. Space is limited to 4 volunteers per session!
Lego Club: Build a Robot – Grades 1-5 – February 27 at 4 p.m.
Love Legos? Stop by! We supply the Legos and YOU supply the creativity!
Movin’ Munchkins – Ages 3-6 ONLY – February 28 at 10 a.m.
Join us for a creative movement program for the child and parent/caregiver! **Please note: An SCLS Release/Waiver must be filled out and signed by the parent or the child cannot participate in this program. Forms are available at the Children's Desk, or you can print one from our online calendar. Younger children are allowed but must remain in strollers at all times and cannot participate.
