Township Could Decide Hillsborough EMS Fate Tuesday Night

Breaking: The Hillsborough Township Committee may vote tonight to award a contract to RWJ that would replace the Hillsborough EMS.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — The Hillsborough Township Committee may be deciding the future fate of the Hillsborough Rescue Squad at Tuesday night's meeting.

A resolution awarding contract to Robert Wood Johnson Health Network for the provision of Emergency Medical Services within the Township of Hillsborough for a term not to exceed five years is on the agenda for consideration for March 28.

A group of concerned Hillsborough residents, Citizens For Hillsborough, will also be attending the Township Committee meeting in support of the rescue squad.

The resolution would essentially dismantle the Hillsborough Rescue Squad and replace them with Robert Wood Johnson Hospital to provide emergency medical services for the township.

The council had voted back in December to get bids for emergency medical services for the town. The only bid that was returned was from RWJ.
