Tractor Trailer Collides With Pole, Spills 20 Gallons Of Fuel
A tractor trailer drove off Route 206 in Montgomery, crashing into a utility pole Friday morning, causing about 20 gallons of fuel to spill.

MONTGOMERY, NJ — A tractor-trailer that drove off the road and crashed into a utility pole Friday morning, caused about 20 gallons of fuel to spill onto Route 206 in Montgomery.
Montgomery Police Officer Tim Dubovick was driving northbound on Route 206 on Friday at 2:28 a.m. when he saw a 2011 Freightliner tractor towing two trailers leave the right side of the highway and crash into a utility pole, north of Devon Drive, Montgomery Police report.
The tractor's fuel tank ruptured and spilled about 20 gallons of diesel fuel onto the roadway, police report.

Montgomery Fire Company #1 and Somerset County Hazmat responded to the scene to assist with the cleanup.
The driver of the tractor, Alfred Darko, 57, of Worcester, Massachusetts was uninjured in the crash. He said he was trying to pull to the side of the highway when his truck left the roadway and impacted a utility pole, police reported.

The northbound lane of Route 206 was closed for about three hours during the cleanup and recovery of the vehicle.
Darko was issued a summons for failing to maintain his lane and is scheduled to appear in Montgomery Municipal Court.
