Transformer Fire, Traffic Light Outages On Route 206, Route 601 in Montgomery

More than 1,100 residents remain without power following the thunderstorm overnight into Tuesday in Somerset County.

MONTGOMERY, NJ — A transformer fire has and multiple traffic lights outages are being reported on Route 206 and also on Route 601 in the Skillman section of Montgomery on Tuesday morning, police announced around 7 a.m.

The traffic lights are out on Route 206 and Sunset Road and also on Route 206 and Harlingen. Additionally, Sunset Road is closed from Route 206 to Kildee. Police are reporting downed utility poles and wires.

Additionally, PSE&G is reporting more than 1,000 customers in Montgomery and 10 in Hillsborough remain without power as of 7:20 a.m. following a thunderstorm overnight Monday into Tuesday.

Power is estimated to be restored around 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday, according to PSE&G.
