HILLSBOROUGH, NJ - From Somerset County Senior Services: Elvis Presley, George Harrison, Paul McCartney, Willie Nelson and Warren Buffett are among a list of famous people who have played the ukulele. And now, we’ll be able to add members of the Montgomery Senior Center to the list!
Under the direction of John Fitzpatrick, folks at the Montgomery Senior Center have spent months practicing in preparation for their first concert. The newly established band will play three popular songs starting at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 18, at Montgomery Senior Center, located in the Otto Kaufman Community Center at 356 Skillman Road.
The band’s performance will include “Yes Sir, That’s My Baby,” “These Boots Are Made for Walking” and “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” Kazoo solos also will be featured.
