Veer Is Hillsborough's Pet Of The Week

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Meet Veer! He has been chosen as Hillsborough Patch's Pet Of The Week.

"I would like to nominate our 13-month-old German Shepherd Veer, as pet of the week.

We would like you to meet our handsome boy Veer, he became a part of our family in Hillsborough on Nov. 1, 2019 at 16 weeks old when we took a long ride back from New Providence, PA.

His name, Veer, means brave in Hindi. And brave he is, even after being attacked by two dogs when he was just 5 months old, he is very protective. Not your ordinary German Shepherd, although he does look intimidating, he is a big teddy bear, hence we tend to call him Ferdinand from the animated movie. Veer is extremely friendly, loves being outdoors for short or long walks, and going to dog parks. But his favorite thing to do is sit by the window and bark at the people and cars that go by.

Veer also likes to keep us active by constantly wanting to play fetch, and not just with a ball, but any and all of his toys. If you’re in the house and sitting on the couch, only get up if you’re willing lose your seat! The minute you walk away, he will quickly take your spot. He loves climbing on the couch next to my girlfriend Sneha to cuddle and for her famous belly rubs. Veer has become extremely obedient and has learned lots of commands from our daughter Shree whom Veer loves like a sister. When it’s time for me to come home from work, he will sit by the door to greet me. With his tail wagging, Veer will bark/howl from the minute he sees my car pull up until I’m inside and hug him. We have no idea how we did without him all our lives, but now can’t imagine our lives without him."

Be sure to include a photograph or two of your pet, a paragraph about what makes him or her so great, the town you're from, and your name.

Then just keep an eye out for a photo of your pet on the Patch!

The photo can be of a present pet, or it can be a baby picture of the adult pet you're so proud of today. All photos must be the property of the submitter. By submitting a photo to Patch the submitter agrees to give permission for it to be published on Patch.
