This is reaction to the possibility that the Hillsborough Rescue Squad may be dismantled and replaced by Robert Wood Johnson Hospital to provide emergency medical services for the township.
The council had voted back in December to get bids for emergency medical services for the town. The only bid that was returned was from RWJ. The vote to continue forward with this bid has not come up on the agenda yet.

Many residents and surrounding emergency officials have voiced their disapproval of this proposed plan. Francis Straz, a Hillsborough resident and EMS responder, started a petition to stop the council and save the rescue squad.
A video segment was also created recently highlighting the Hillsborough EMS, the issues going on relating to its possible dismantling and petition to save it. The roughly 15-minute episode will air on their Public Access TV Show on Cablevision, FiOS networks through April.
