Wawa Opens New Somerset Location Friday
Wawa is hosting a grand opening celebration on Friday for their newest store at 607 Somerset St. in Somerset.
SOMERSET, NJ — Wawa is hosting a grand opening celebration on Friday for their newest store at 607 Somerset St. in Somerset.
Doors will open at 8 a.m. and a ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 10 a.m.
As part of their grand opening festivities, the Franklin Township Police Department will participate in the “Hoagies for Heroes” hoagie building contest.

Five representatives from the Franklin Township Police Department will participate in a hoagie-building drill to benefit the Franklin Food Bank. Wawa will donate $1,000 to the team’s charity of choice, but only the winners will take the trophy home.
The tentative agenda for the day is as follows:

- 9:30 a.m. - Hoagie Building Boot Camp – teams arrive and learn to build hoagies the Wawa way
- 10 a.m. - Grand opening ceremony, remarks by local officials and ribbon cutting
- 10:40 a.m. - Hoagie Building contest. The team who builds the most hoagies in three minutes wins
- 10:45 a.m. – Check presentation
