Yang, Lam Battle to Seal Team Victory
First doubles team goes the distance to help Raiders top Watchung HIlls, 3-2.
After a nearly two-hour battle through three tie-breaking sets in the first doubles match, Hillsborough's James Yang and Ian Lam defeated Watchung Hills' Todor Tachev and Nate Luke to seal Hillsborough's 3-2 victory.

After falling behind on the early matches, the Raiders rallied to win the tie-breaker matches and the team match. Mike Zhang won in straight sets at first singles to pace the Raiders, and Vikram Allada battled to win his tie-breaker.

That set up the first doubles marathon to determine the winning team. With the victory on the line, Yang and Lam battled for more than 2 hours against Watchung Hill's Tachev and Luke before pulling out a decision after three tie-breaking rounds.

James Yang and Ian Lam—Yang helped break many of Luke's fast serves to keep the pressure on his opponents, while Lam took advantage of short shots to gain the upper hand.
Other Key Performances—Allada stepped up his play in the final games of his marathon match; Zhang helped the Raiders notch a victory early to stay in the match.
