2 Guns And 2 Kilograms Of Cocaine Found In Hudson County Apartment And Car: Prosecutor

A man and woman received multiple charges after guns and drugs were found in a Hudson County apartment and car, prosecutors said.

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — Prosecutors seized more than 2 kilograms of cocaine, two handguns, and magazines after a months-long narcotics investigation in West New York, they said Tuesday.

Prosecutors charged a man and woman with multiple drug and weapons offenses, they said.

They also charged the pair with child endangerment for reasons undisclosed.

Rowaldi Caceres, 39, and Hilda Membreno, 29, both of West New York, have been charged with possession with the intent to distribute (cocaine), unlawful possession of a weapon while committing a CDS (drug) offense, possession with the intent to distribute (cocaine) within 1,000 feet of a school, money laundering, endangering the welfare of a child, and three other drug and weapons charges, the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office said.

Caceres was additionally charged with possessing firearm parts without a serial number, another count of endangering the welfare of a child, and other weapons offenses, prosecutors said.

The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office said that on Sunday, Feb. 26, members of their Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant of an apartment shared by Caceres and Membreno.

The search resulted in the recovery of more than one kilogram of cocaine with the street value of approximately $35,000, as well as a handgun, three large capacity magazines, and approximately $30,000.

The pair were arrested at the scene, prosecutors said.

The following day, investigators searched Caceres’ car they said. Prosecutors said they found a handgun with hollow point bullets.

Over two kilograms of cocaine were seized during the course of the investigation, they said.

Prosecutor Esther Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force, the United States Postal Inspection Service, and the United States Postal Service Office of the Inspector General with the investigation and arrest.
