2 Hoboken Residents Die Of COVID; More Clinics Coming Up
Flu and COVID vaccine clinics have been scheduled in Hoboken as virus numbers rise nationally.
HOBOKEN, NJ — As cases of flu, RSV, and COVID rise nationally, Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla said Monday that two more Hoboken residents have passed away due to the COVID virus.
Last year, Hoboken went all summer without a COVID death, but suffered more deaths as cases rose again in fall and winter.
Bhalla wrote in an update, "There have been a total of 14,334 confirmed cases of COVID. Unfortunately, two more residents, both in their 80s, have passed away after contracting COVID-19. I keep their families and friends in my thoughts as they navigate this difficult time."

However, there was some good news in the update: Hudson County has gone from medium risk to low risk for COVID, for now.
From Nov. 12-25 (including Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday), 90 cases were reported to Hoboken's Health Department. That would not include cases in which people took a test at home and didn't report it locally, or took a test out of town.
Cases of flu and RSV are on the rise among children, with some RSV deaths. Read more about RSV here.
