3 New Years' Eve Events Planned For Kids At Hoboken Bars

Why should only adults go out to celebrate for 2024? Local bars in Hoboken have popular events. American Dream Mall's also got a party.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Some families prefer a cozy evening inside for New Year's Eve, but others want to go out — and two local bars are hosting three celebrations on Jan. 31 to accommodate them.

Hoboken's beer garden, Pilsener Haus, only has a few tickets left for its annual afternoon celebration for kids on that date. The celebration this year runs from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and includes a kids' band, face painter, a balloon artist, and more. There's a ball drop at the end.

"Welcome the New Year with joy and giggles!" says the ticketing site. "Countdown to Kid-Friendly Fun! Join us at our annual Kids NYE Party for a blast of excitement."

Meanwhile, Northern Soul, a bar/restaurant at the other western corner of town — at 700 First St. — has seen popularity of their New Year's Eve celebration for kids grow so much that they're offering two of them this year.

"Due to overwhelming demand we are doing two shows this year," they wrote. "Live music and dancing with the always entertaining "Fuzzy Lemons." Balloon drop with sparkling apple juice toast. Face painting and balloon animals. Both shows are capped to keep things comfy so tickets will go fast!"

And if you want more to do that day, American Dream Mall in East Rutherford, is open. Nickelodeon Universe is hosting a "noon years eve" celebration for kids starting at 11 a.m.

"Join the mega-fun, interactive countdown to Noon on the Nickelodeon Universe Slime Stage with a one-time-only dance party featuring children and characters from SpongeBob SquarePants, Paw Patrol and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," they said. "Guests can then head out into the park and enjoy the record-breaking rides in the Western Hemisphere’s largest indoor theme park. It’s the perfect New Year’s Eve event for kids and kids at heart!"

The mall is located at American Dream, 1 American Dream Way in East Rutherford. Get more details here.
