420 More Housing Units Coming To North End Of Hoboken: Meeting Set

A new development project will add 420 units of housing near the Hoboken/Weehawken border. A Zoom meeting is next week.

HOBOKEN, NJ — A square block in northern Hoboken from 15th to 16th street may someday be home to 420 residential units in two buildings and a park.

Hoboken community members are invited to join a virtual community meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 19, at 6 p.m., regarding the proposed redevelopment project at 1500 Grand St., within the North End Redevelopment Plan Area.

The project architect will present drawings and renderings and describe the redevelopment proposal.

It encompasses the 80,000 square foot block surrounded by 15th, Grand, Adams, and 16th streets.

The proposal includes 420 residential units in two buildings, ground floor commercial space, a linear park, a pedestrian promenade along 15th Street, and a two-way bike lane, as well as other site improvements.

Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions and comment on the proposal. No action will be taken by the city.
