Conde Nast Traveler has made up a list of "5 New Jersey sandwiches to eat before you die" that help make the Garden State what it's partially known for: The land of big greasy sandwiches that barely fit into your mouth.

Well, to be fair, they're not all greasy. At least one of them could be considered healthy (roast beef and mozzarella from Fiore's in Hoboken). But Mara and Francisco Balagtas may have struck the right Jersey tone in their number one sandwich when they said the Taylor ham, egg and cheese from Sunrise Bagels is "great for hangovers."

Here is a list of the sandwiches from Conde Nast Traveler, as well as the video that outlines the list:

  1. Taylor Ham Egg and Cheese, Sunrise Bagels, Montclair ("Great for hangovers")
  2. Fat sandwich, RU Hungry ("Has just about everything on it:" double cheeseburgers, french fries, roast beef, chicken fingers; a long-time favorite at the grease trucks that are now virtually gone).
  3. White Manna Burger, White Manna Hackensack ("White Castle before White Castle became famous")
  4. The Ripper, Rutt's Hut, Clifton (deep-fried hot dog that's ripped open; good with chili)
  5. Roast beef and mozzarella, Fiore's, Hoboken ("Made in-house").
